Methamphetamine is one of the most addictive drugs in the world today. With addiction rate being so high due to the immediate effect it has on the body. Drug testing reveals that the brains serotonin levels, or feel good hormone, release 3 times the amount of feel good as cocaine and 100 times more serotonin than food. Food being the most popular feel good, legal, hormone our bodies crave and we give in to on a consistent basis. Methamphetamine is a powerfully alluring drug because it spikes the bodies feel good hormone to such high levels creating a feeling of invincibility, indestructibility, and fearlessness. The person using the drug is driven to work harder, think faster, and accomplish more in a shorter period than normal.

Methamphetamine came about during World War II, which was given to the soldiers to keep the out on the front lines fighting longer than hum any possible without the drug. This has backfired in many countries, especially Thailand where an estimated 3 million people are addicted to the drug. With forces cracking down, in one shot 1200 known drug dealers were found dead. The users themselves understand the risks of being caught wight the drug, so they go underground and hide with other users such as themselves. This drives them from their homes, families, and normalities of the life they once knew.

Urine drug testing is used to find out who is using and who is not when the Thai government arrests these people off the streets. Most if not all of the users fear for their life but continue to use the drug because it is the only way they know and are wrapped up in the vice of the drugs powerful addiction.

In America Urine drug screening is used for many reasons from obtaining a job, keeping a job, being found driving under the influence, and when the person is involved in some form of suspected illegal activity.

The big question is, does all this testing and bringing awareness make the drug harder to obtain or is it making it more desirable to obtain. This is my question. What do you think the reason our society is so addicted today? Or do you think that society has always been using drugs, but there was not the social media variable to blow it out of proportion?
